Delegation of Shandong Engineering Vocational Technical University in the Republic of Belarus
At the invitation of the Center for International Relations, a delegation of Shandong Engineering Vocational University headed by Rector Wu Mengjun arrived in the Republic of Belarus. The Chinese delegation included Wang Shouguang, First Vice-Rector, Wang Weijiao, Head of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department, Xu Zhenpeng, CEO of RUIBOSS LLC, Guo Man, Customer Relations Manager of RUIBOSS LLC.
On December 20, 2024, within the framework of the visit, negotiations were held on attracting Chinese citizens to the Republic of Belarus for tourism and educational purposes, creating joint educational programs, promoting academic mobility between institutions of higher education in the two countries, as well as the possibility of organizing thematic summer and winter schools for Chinese students. On behalf of the Belarusian side, the meeting was attended by the Director of the GORUP "Center for International Relations" A.A. Samuilich, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs of Gomel State Technical University named after P.O. Sukhoi Petrishin G.V., as well as Khaletsky V.A., Head of the Department of International Relations at Brest State Technical University, who participated in the online discussion.
An additional item on the program of the Chinese delegation's visit was a visit to the Belarusian State Technological University in order to get acquainted with the specifics of the educational process and discuss promising areas of bilateral cooperation. During the visit, following negotiations, Rector of the Belarusian State Technological University Igor Vitalievich Voitov and Rector of the Shandong Engineering Vocational Technical University Wu Mengjun signed a memorandum of cooperation.
During the discussion with the Chinese delegation on university cooperation, representatives of the Belarusian State Technological University suggested considering the creation of university branches, the opening of joint educational programs in the field of ecology, landscape design, and passenger car engineering.
According to the program of the visit, on December 21, a visit to the Medieval History Park "Grand Duchy of Sula" took place, where the delegation took part in an animation quest, getting acquainted with Belarusian traditions and rituals related to the celebration of Christmas. The excursion program included a visit to a unique medieval complex with an introduction to traditional Belarusian crafts, as well as sleigh rides and participation in traditional Christmas rituals, which allowed for a deeper understanding of the history and culture of Belarus. In the evening of the same day, the delegation returned to Minsk for a sightseeing tour of the city, during which the main sights of the capital were presented.
Thus, the visit of the delegation of representatives of the Shandong Engineering Vocational Technical University, headed by the rector of the university, Wu Mengjun, became an important step in strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions of Belarus and China. The signed agreements and negotiations opened up new horizons for joint educational programs and academic mobility, which was highly appreciated by all participants of the visit.
