Educational visit of the Belarusian delegation to Smolensk: exchange of experience in the field of inclusive education
From February 19 to 21, 2025. The Center for International Relations organized a educational visit of the Belarusian delegation within the project “Inclusive Education: favorable environment for the realization of every child's potential” to Smolensk (Russian Federation). The delegation included representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the *SEI (the State Educational Institution) “Academy of Education”, the EI* (Educational Institution) “National Center for Artistic Creativity of Children and Youth”, the SEI “Kindergarten No. 6 in Ivatsevichi”, the SEI “Secondary School No. 17 in Vitebsk named after I.R. Boumagin”, the SEI “Kindergarten No. 22 in Rechitsa”. Ivatsevichi”, the SEI ‘I.R. The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the peculiarities of the system of inclusive education in the Russian Federation, exchange experience and develop promising directions for the organization of education for children with different educational needs.
The Belarusian delegation visited the following institutions: “Diagnostics and Consulting Center”, “Kindergarten No. 3 in Smolensk”, “Krasninskaya Secondary Boarding School for Students with Special Educational Needs”, “Education Center for Children with Special Educational Needs in Smolensk”, during which the Belarusian delegation got acquainted with the practice of organizing secondary and preschool education for children with different educational needs, as well as with the experience of introducing the latest educational technologies in the correctional and developmental process with students with disabilities.
On February 21, a round table was held at the Regional Model Center for Additional Education of Children of the Smolensk Regional Institute of Education Development, where the issues of professional development and retraining of personnel for inclusive education, as well as effective tools for teaching and training children with special educational needs were discussed.

As a result of the visit, the Belarusian delegation got a comprehensive acquaintance with the practices of inclusive education in Russia and identified promising areas of cooperation in this area. The visit was highly appreciated by the organizers and participants, confirming the focus of the Belarusian side on joint work in priority areas of inclusive education.
