This year, the Republic of Belarus has received the honor of hosting this world competition for the second time.
For the first time, the participants of this Championship were divided into two groups: professionals and amateurs (participants of group "B"). Thanks to this, the states in which urban sports have just begun to develop were also able to participate. Many international students and graduates of the capital's institutions of higher education, as well as their family members, expressed a desire to participate in the championship and prove themselves.

With the assistance of the Center for International Relations of the Ministry of Education, the participation of representatives of about 16 countries was ensured, such as Libya, Ecuador, Yemen, Egypt, Canada, France, Turkey, Turkmenistan, China, Iran, Guinea, Uzbekistan, Congo, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria.

The competitions among the participants of group "B" (amateurs) were held on the opening day of the Championship. The organizers provided all the conditions for a wonderful time. The guests of the Republic of Belarus were offered a food court area where they could not only refresh themselves after the game, but also buy souvenirs in memory of such a bright event. They were also welcomed by the official mascot of the tournament, the Belarusian beaver Spritsik. The venue where the event was held was filled with joyful anticipation and a truly athletic spirit. Every participant was determined.

During the fair competition, the athletes raffled off sets of medals, and also received gifts from the organizers of the 2024 World Urban Sports Championship. The winners in group B (amateurs) among women were the first to be determined. Dzhemal Rayimova, a student of BSU from Turkmenistan, took the honorable third place, Leyla Gurbanova, a student of BSU from Turkmenistan, took the second place, and Abril Valdivieso, representing MAVVUZ (International Association of Graduates of Higher Educational Institutions), became the winner of the first place and the gold medal. The winners among men were determined after them. The third place was taken by the representative of Guinea, Antonio Eloy Aubourou, a student of the Belarusian National Technical University. The second place was taken by Cuban Tamayo Raudel, and gold was won by his compatriot Morales Jurdanis.

All participants received a lot of positive emotions from the last festival and, most importantly, adequately represented their countries during the World Urban Sports Championship. It became another proof that sport unites not only people, but also states, destroys imposed borders and promotes unity in the name of peace and prosperity.
